Pershing Riflemen: As we prepare for the new year and era with President Elect Obama being sworn in as the 44th President and Commander and Chief, it is a time for all of us to raise the bar, settling less for mediocre and striving more for excellence. This is a very exciting time for not only the citizens of the United States, but for all people around the world. Therefore, the continued success and overall strength of NSPRAA is based upon its ability to maintain a steady growth rate in our membership. The
membership goal for 2009 is to have 2009 dues paid at the regional
(local) and national levels by 1 March 09; Operation “Membership
Reclamation” is in effect! Finally, we are a country at war with many of our family members and friends serving abroad. Say a pray for their safe and speedy return home. I.T.B., Lawrence
K. Montgomery, Jr.
National Structure The Alumni Association is developed along a quasi-military organization. This is done to create a familiar command structure and yet provide flexible subordinate companies capable of independent operations. The overall command and membership structure is as follows: The
leadership Commission The Leadership Commission convenes twice a year at the discretion of the NSPRAA Commander. The semi-annual meeting or "conclave" is NSPRAA's business meeting and is open to all NSPRAA Members and Alumni Pershing Rifles. In addition to general business activities, new initiatives are proposed by Headquarters NSPRAA and the subordinate companies. The Leadership Commission is composed of the Commander, NSPRAA and commanders of the subordinate companies. The NSPRAA Headquarters Element is composed of the National Commander and the National Staff. The Commander may organize and coordinate the staff any way the Commanders deems necessary to accomplish the objectives of NSPRAA. The NSPRAA HQ is the administrative and leadership arm of NSPRAA. The local subordinate companies execute the Society's objectives at the "grass roots level." The Companies are formed by the NSPRAA in the local area. The unit petitions the NSPRAA HQ to form a company and agrees to abide by the NSPRAA Bylaws. The local company may select its own name with the concurrence of NSPRAA HQ. The companies have freedom to pursue its own affairs and objectives as long as it promotes the good name and objectives of NSPRAA. HQ NSPRAA encourages NSPRAA members to develop subordinate companies in all localities, Current Command and Control
